Some people love the idea of a candy buffet on a wedding table, some people don’t. For me this can be a wedding hit. Depending on your leading colors of decor you can decide to choose one theme colour or mix few colours and make it colorful. There is a wide range of candy that you can buy at online candy stores such as www.candywarehouse.com (Never heard of online candy store in Ireland) You can place candy buffet in a center that everyone will see it firstly or hide it in a secret area. But you have to remember – it’s an additional attraction, don’t spend too much money on it.
This video will help you to answer those two questions: “How much candy should I buy for my wedding candy buffet” and “How many pounds of jelly beans do I need to fill a gallon candy jar”?

Jewellery is a way of expressing yourself to the outside world. It can be an expression of love between two people and traditionally is used to signify landmark moments such as engagements or weddings in people’s lives.
The selection and availability of jewellery for engagements and weddings alike has expanded vastly over the years as peoples tastes have developed and modern craftsmanship techniques have extended. Today there are many different types of jewelry one can purchase or wear to highlight a special moment.
Traditionally a diamond ring is associated with engagements. However there are different cuts to different diamonds and this info-graphic explains these. Different cuts of diamond tend to suit different fingers and often it is only possible to determine this by trying on some samples. Further to the cut of stone is also the type of metal band used. Traditionally platinum has been the go-to metal for engagement and wedding rings but we have seen a huge change in this with many experimenting with mixed metal bands.
Trends in jewellery have changed over the years and will continue to do so as different influences come into play. For some, a television show can influence fashion and jewellery heavily if it is popular enough. We have seen this significantly with the worldwide popularity of shows such as Downton Abbey and Mad Men. Both shows are set in very specific eras which also had very defined fashions and trends. People watching these shows may have never seen this type of fashion or jewellery before until it appears on their television screens and so it saturates itself into their minds thereby influencing their choices in terms of fashion and jewellery.
This info-graphic looks at some of the trends in wedding jewellery for 2013-14 and charts some celebrity influencers in each category. Modern pop culture has a heavy influence on fashion and jewelry trends and this is heightened even more so with the advent, popularity and growth of social media worldwide.
Many brides try to lose weight before their big day, but it’s not an easy task. Here are a few ideas how to shed off those extra pounds and look your best just in time for the nuptials.
Time Your Weight Loss Perfectly
Depending on how much time you have left until your wedding you have to plan carefully. You don’t want to start an extreme weight loss diet months before the wedding only to give up a few weeks from the event and eat back all the pounds you have lost. Some things, like diet supplements that help your weight loss along, and picking out the right dress that makes you look thinner should be done in advance, while some tricks should be left for the final day.
Long Term Weight Loss
If you have plenty of time, take it slow in the beginning. Drink plenty of water, try to eat healthier than before and start working out a couple of times a week. You may even want to pick a diet and stick to it, this way it’s easier for you to know what to eat and when. The Mediterranean diet and The Atkins diet are quite easy to follow and give great results long term. DO NOT start any extreme diets which only allow you 500 calories per day or even less, these will backfire on you.
Last Week Or Two
If you have limited time, you need to use a different strategy. You must be stricter with yourself on the last week of wedding preparations. The fact that you are already excited and nervous will work in your favour – you won’t have time to eat too much and you may lose your appetite altogether.
Only drink water, tea and coffee (without cream or sugar). There are a lot of calories in beverages and there may also be carbs and sodium which will retain water, making you look bloated.
Forget about pasta, white bread and other white grain foods. The simple carbs in these foods also cause bloating, plus they give a lot of calories. It’s best if you don’t even substitute them with whole grains, instead stick to veggies. Carbs in vegetables make you feel full longer and since they are made of water, they will help to flush out the excess water you have in your body.
Sleep more. I know that this is easier said than done, especially with a wedding coming up, but do give it a try. Even an extra half hour of sleep can make you fresh so you will make better meal choices, have faster metabolism and are more energized and active. Of course, you also need your beauty sleep to look young, fresh and beautiful on your wedding day.
On The Day You Get Married
There are several small things you can do that make you look instantly slimmer. Don’t have coffee in the morning or during the day, it can retrain water. Be sure to stand up straight, shoulders back and suck in your belly (use a corset if you have to). Take a chewable anti gas pill, it breaks ups gas bubbles and keeps your stomach flat. Of course, wear perfectly fitting underwear and make sure your dress is just the right size. You may want to wear heels and your hair up to look taller and slimmer.
And what’s most important – Smile! You will look thinner, happier, more beautiful when you smile. And you sure have a lot to smile about on that very special day.
If your the type of bride who spent their childhood dreaming of the perfect wedding dress like in the classic Disney Films then you will love this gorgeous graphic. In Ireland, we like to consider ourselves modern Europeans with liberal attitudes and a progressive society. However, although the Irish clergy has been rocked by scandal and church attendance has plummeted in recent years, we are still fundamentally a conservative Catholic county at heart. With one of the highest rates of matrimony in Europe, this is especially true when it comes to matters of marriage.
The union of marriage and the associated celebration is still practised with the enthusiasm of times past. In fact, The Big Day has probably become more elaborate over time. During The Celtic Tiger years, Irish wedding spend reached new heights in terms of excess with one now-bankrupt developer reportedly spending EUR1.5 million on his wedding celebration, by hiring the Christina O, the yacht once owned by Aristotle Onassis. Although there is now less money around, expectations are still high when it comes to the wedding reception with couples expecting to spend between EUR 15 -20,000 on average.
Couples sometimes forget to factor in the price of their wedding jewellery including the wedding rings and with the steep rise in the price of both platinum and gold in recent years, the cost can be significant. Here at CladdaghRings.com, we have noticed that the Claddagh ring has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity as a traditional choice of wedding ring. With modern styles and a choice of precious metals, brides are not limited to the plain Claddagh that their grandmother would have worn. The famous Irish symbol of Love, Friendship and Loyalty lives on.
In the days of yore the traditional American honeymoon meant about a week spent on a mountain or a beach vacation secreted away in the boom boom room. More globally, it was a time for the couple to set up their home and to get to know each other. In Jane Austen’s era, well-to-do newlyweds used that time to travel to see relatives who were unable to attend the ceremony. These days, the honeymoon is still a time to connect with each other — but in a variety of ways — and it (as with all wedding-related travel) has morphed to reflect a language all its own. Here we dissect the latest terms in the nuptial travel realm.
Mini-Moon
This is a great solution for those who don’t have enough vacation days, are hosting a destination wedding or are choosing to wed somewhere that isn’t home and still want a romantic getaway after the nuptial celebration. This quickie vacation is two to three nights and doesn’t preclude you from taking a longer, more formal honeymoon later.
Familymoon
One or both of you have kids, and your parents are happy to babysit. A time to bond together as a new family (like Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth’s familymoon), this multigenerational trip is usually built around a destination wedding.
Babymoon
This vacation is the last hurrah before having a child. It celebrates your union and the upcoming expansion of family. It’s usually three to four days and totally laid-back.
Jack ‘n Jill
Not exactly romantic, but definitely fun, the concepts of both the destination bachelor and bachelorette party get in sync here. Usually one day of the weekend jaunt is gender-specific (think: golf, steaks, ribs and blackjack).
Girls’ Weekend
This is your moment to just breathe. Unlike a bawdier bachelorette weekend, the girls’ weekend is more about prepping for your upcoming wedding in a mind-body-spirit way than a scavenger hunt/shots/bikinis trip. The focus here is getting the bride in shape holistically for the wedding — eating well, exercising and spa-ing. The girls’ wellness weekend concept isn’t limited to your lady pals, and often includes moms, new MILs and a favorite aunt.
Inspection Trip
As the desire for destination weddings continues to rise, so does the need for a pre-wedding hotel once-over. Various resorts offer incentive weekend visits for couples to test-drive and ultimately choose to wed on property.
Engagement Getaway
This is for those of you who are dropping hints to the BF — there are loads of resorts around the world that have romance concierges. And while these specialized hotel employees can assist in putting together the most romantic itinerary packed with honeymoon-perfect activities, they can also help your guy create a fairytale proposal. Some hotels and resorts even have proposal packages.
Elopement Package
The largest uptick in the romance-travel sector is the planned elopment. Just-the-two-of-us packages include all the traditional bells and whistles — intimate ceremony, celebratory meal, some flowers and photos — without the hassle of an engorged guest list.
Did you know? The concept of a honeymoon — the first month of marriage when the union is sweetest — appeared in Western culture in the 16th century.
There are lots of different types of diamond accessible for your wedding ring, and it is important you find the one right for you, since this will be with you for a long time. When looking for a diamond for your ring, there are certain features you should consider, such as the colour, cut, clarity and cost.
You should also consider the factors that affect the cost of the diamond ring, such as the carat size, in which the size of the carat indicates the price. This infographic not only gives you easy access and a visual representation of this information, but it also gives you a background to diamonds, and how they were mined, formed, and carried to the earths surface. See the infographic below, bought to you by Hitched, to find out more about the types of diamond for your ring.

If their wedding day is the most important day in a couple’s life, then the honeymoon is the most important trip they will ever take, bar none. Think about it – so much planning goes into the wedding itself, invitations, guests, themes, venues, cars, flowers, etc., etc. A wedding is such an exciting occasion that it is very easy to be absorbed by the day itself and to give less thought to the romantic holiday to follow. Yet when the fuss dies down and the bride and groom have escaped from possibly one of the busiest days in their lives, it is so important to be able to look forward to the kind of holiday that they can enjoy together and which will be remembered forever after.
Location, location, location
Tastes differ, but classic examples of how not to book a honeymoon include not planning anything until the last minute and not communicating with each other about preferences. Does one partner want an activity holiday with lots of different adventurous experiences, such as mountaineering or skiing, while the other is looking for a quiet spot for relaxation and romance? Whatever the situation, preferences must be reconciled so that both partners will be sure to enjoy their special break. Here are three ideas for some stunning honeymoon destinations.
Costa Dorada, Spain
Some honeymoon destinations, such as Hawaii, the Maldives and the Caribbean are regarded as glamorous, which is fine for those who are happy to do what lots of others do. Spain is already a popular holiday destina
tion and as a result it is easy to overlook its potential as a very special and enticing choice for a honeymoon. However, in the Costa Dorada, which is also known as the Costa Daurada or Gold Coast, a warm Mediterranean welcome awaits newlyweds who want to make the most of the local amenities, notably those at Salou, which is widely regarded as being one of the best leisure facilities in Europe. Founded by the Greeks in the 6th century BC and later occupied by the Romans and Moors, Salou is home to a wonderful array of inspiring historic sites, fabulous beaches, rocky coves, resorts and even a theme park, all served by a selection of Costa Dorada hotels to suit every budget.
Belize, Central America
Sometimes regarded as an alternative honeymoon destination, Belize has beautiful beaches, great snorkelling and diving at the Belize Barrier Reef and access to some spectacular Mayan ruins. Add to these the many luxurious resorts, spas and romantic hideaways and it is clear why it has become such a popular honeymoon location. Belize is also a great place for caving, visiting nature reserves and birdwatching, not to mention a wide selection of water-sports.
Bora Bora, French Polynesia
For the sheer beauty of the emerald water and white sandy beaches of its lagoon it’s hard to beat Bora Bora. There are five star resort hotels with overwater bungalows, beachside villas and luxury spas dotted around the beautiful island; having breakfast delivered by canoe is a popular feature with honeymooners. Sailing and snorkelling are popular during the day, while in the evenings couples can enjoy a romantic dinner prepared by their personal chef. This is the ultimate honeymoon destination for newlyweds who are looking to relax, unwind and feel thoroughly spoiled on their special holiday.
