Films in the Hollywood have definitely been our trendsetters. They have been the most influencing factors on our changing norms and traditions. Hollywood hits such as ‘The Wedding Planner’ and ’27 dresses’ have given a high to the wedding planning industry most definitely.

For this you need to have a PDA with you or a large binder that you can carry it with yourself always, filing in the smallest detail and note that is related to your wedding. It should be a huge three ring binder with a three-hole puncher that will keep your papers in one place. It must be divided by dividers and tabs; it should also have sticky notes and coloured pens too on the side as accessories.

Your binder should be divided along the tasks that are related to your wedding. They include: your finances, your guest lists, your checklists, details of the venue, the ceremony, your sound systems and choices in music, DJ, videographer, choreographer, the catering, your travel information related to honeymoon, the florists information, the dresses and the wedding rings, and last but not the least the marriage license. You can do all your brainstorming here – it will keep to from going insane in planning out each and every detail.

A year before the wedding the details of things that need to be decided between you and your partner including the size of your wedding whether you want your wedding to be small or large, the type of your wedding, should you keep it formal or informal. Then, the time of the year – when exactly you want your wedding to take place i.e. near the Christmas, or during the summer break etc. And then you should select the venue where you want your wedding to take place i.e. on a beachside, in a Church, or a hotel.

At least six months before the wedding you should select the colour and theme of your wedding and go and shop for your wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses. You should also begin to look into the honeymoon packages. Next the hotels should be reserved for out-of-town guests.

You and your partner should also meet the DJ and the kind of music you want to play on the wedding or you want somebody to compose a song for your big day. You should also select the florist and start discussing the floral arrangements that may depend on the venue and the time of year you select for your wedding. If you belong to an ethnic or cultural background then you should delve into your customs and do a little research what kind of ceremonies you want on your wedding.

The last of the things that come down the wedding checklist include getting a wedding cake ordered. Then buy a ring for your partner and yourself. And write down the wedding favours.

On the wedding day you should stay calm. For this you need to have a plenty of sleep beforehand. After you have exchanged vows make sure to thank everyone who has blessed you with their presence on your special day.
